Chris,
Thanks for your question about my play, LUMPs. It is written and now I'm doing the final line by line edit before I send it to the publisher. In the next week or so an excerpt will be on the on-line journal, Wordgathering. Please stop by and check it out. There is also an interview with me. It's exciting. Monday a group at an assisted living home will be reading it and my niece has connected me with a community theatre that is interested. Things are moving.

Touching Tefilin Shel Yad When Saying 'Yoser Or U'Vore Choshech'
We are continuing yesterday's discussion on the Beracha of 'Yoser Or U'Vore Choshech'. The Ben Ish Chai holds and is very adamant, that one should be holding his Tefilin Shel Yad as he says the Beracha of 'Yoser Or U'Vore Choshech'. He further says that one should kiss the Shel Yad upon finishing this Beracha. He is against those that kiss their Tefilin Shel Rosh during the Beracha of 'Yoser Or'. He says that according to the Kabalah, there is no room in the Beracha of 'Yoser Or' for the Tefilin Shel Rosh. Of course during Kriat Shema, it is another story when we say 'U'Keshartem Otam LiOt Al Yidechem ViHayu Litotafot Ben Enechem.' At that moment in the Kriat Shema, we kiss the Tefilin Shel Rosh, but during the Beracha of 'Yoser Or' itself, for example when we say, 'Kadosh Kadosh Kadosh', the custom would be to hold the Teflin Shel Yad only, and not to involve the Tefilin Shel Rosh.
And I still haven't a clue what Litotafot means.

Chris,
I Googled "Litotafot" and got a few hits but nothing concrete.
The Urban Dictionary has no listing.
Now I want to know!
